Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 5 cloves garlic crushed
  • 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
  • 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
  • ½ cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 6 green onions chopped, divided
  • 4 cups hot cooked brown rice
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

Method
 

  1. Gather all ingredients before starting.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the ground beef and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring and breaking it into small pieces, until browned.
  4. Drain off any excess grease.
  5. Add the crushed garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil to the skillet.
  6. Cook for about 2 minutes, stirring, until fragrant.
  7. Stir in the soy sauce, brown sugar, and crushed red pepper.
  8. Cook for about 7 minutes, letting the beef absorb some of the sauce.
  9. Stir in half of the chopped green onions.
  10. Serve the beef over hot cooked brown rice.
  11. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and the remaining green onions before serving.
