Method
- Gather all your ingredients and make sure the strawberries are washed and completely dry.
- In a double boiler, melt the milk chocolate chips and shortening together. Stir occasionally until the mixture is smooth and fully melted. Keep the heat gentle.
- Insert a toothpick into the top of each strawberry at the stem end. Hold the strawberry by the toothpick and dip it into the melted chocolate. Turn it slightly to coat evenly.
- Turn the strawberry upside down and stick the toothpick into a Styrofoam block, or place the dipped strawberry on a sheet of waxed paper. Let the chocolate cool and set completely.
- Repeat with the remaining strawberries. Once set, they are ready to serve.
